If a Nebraska Senator has his way, his state will spend around $650,000 to do a simple test to diagnose mesothelioma and lung cancer in its early stages.
He has a personal stake in the matter because his father died of cancer linked to asbestos exposure.
The test will take mucus from the respiratory tract for early detection which could save lives before it's too late.
Older veterans have an increased risk of developing cancer because they were exposed to more carcinogens and asbestos while in the military service.
